I Love My Friends and They Are My Family

We have special friends and we cherish them so.
Lately, 3 of our dear friends wish to come for a visit... from different states, different times. They all said they feel safe in coming here to have a mini vacation.
Yes... huh... wow... but do we feel safe in them coming!!??

My husband and I have been very careful and have not let our guard down concerning this virus. When we venture out we wear masks and use hand sanitizer. We even leave the mail in our truck for a couple of days to not carry anything inside our home. When we go shopping... it's a chore, I spray down cans and all before they enter our cabinets. Then we shower and get clean clothes on.

sigh... what to do? Do we pray all will be well and go about life with as little fear as possible... or .. shut them down?
We do know that they themselves have done the same at their homes, and they all are .. old folks too...lol.
my oh my..

We have discussed it with family, since some are kind of scattered around the country. Since most of us have been in medicine the consensus has been to maintain distancing and not to chance things at this time. Add to that we're at the age where we need to accept our age and frailties.

@SageWanderer A day ago, a little church in a small town, just 5 miles away... they had 17 new cases. That was an eye opener for me. I am going to cancel, tell them NO, so sorry, not yet. We will not entertain others while risking our lives. I need to get on it too. One friend wants to come next week. The others later on in July.
sigh. . . . Thank you for sharing your opinion my friend!

@Echoing I have to say that it may border on paranoia but also have heard too many horror stories from friends and family that are still in the health field. And considering my wife's preexisting conditions it's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

@SageWanderer Yup, I am .. at this moment texting a friend, saying No, Sorry, and explaining that 17 new cases in a church down the road has been reported. 😞

@Echoing I can't say I blame you. We are still at five cases in our county but just started testing other than those who are symptomatic. My fear is that as the state opens up that out of state people will bring more infections here.

@SageWanderer To tell you the honest truth... I teared-up with relief at making the decision. Thank you for opening … helping me. I love my husband .. I love us and I will not allow anyone to upset our good and safe lives. wow.
