Do you ever feel like you've outgrown your friends?

I love my friends, but recently I feel like we're growing apart. They're still heavy into the party scene, always wanting to get wasted and hook up with random guys. It's hard to have serious conversations with them. They tell me I'm boring and that I'm "changing," like that's a bad thing. Don't we all change? Is that so bad?

Tends to happen in the early-mid 20s. After high school or college. The 20s are the second biggest change, after puberty. So, friends tend to drift apart easily during this time. Especially so when family and careers come into the picture, on top of changing.

It happens. People change , that's life. It's not a bad thing. There comes a time when we outgrow peer pressure. That means you are maturing. It can be upsetting when our paths split from those of our friends but it does happen. You must do what is best for you and hopefully your friends will understand.

I gave up drinking and partying when I was 23 and my friends who couldn't deal with that turned out to not really be good friends anyway. Our paths had to go different ways.

You're better going your own way in just about everything. You do what you think is best for you and if your friends aren't part of that anymore, so be it. But that hooking up with random guys part sounds intriguing. lol

@StevetheSleeve: Well, not so intriguing when one of my friends hooked up with my bf (although my bf and I had agreed to take a break a week before)...go figure.

@giggles143: Damn girl. That's so wrong.

Massively... But I've been friends with them since I was three years old. No getting away from them now
