What and who is a friend?

There is a huge difference between a friend and an acquaintance, and i believe, only a time tested connection which has survived up and downs of the grind should be called friend!

How do you define someone being your friend?

One aspect - if I find myself getting upset because someone is dissing a person I like then that's a BIG clue the person being put down is a friend.
