Do you have friends that mispronounce "Walmart?"

They call it "Walmark."
Do you have friends like this?

Such persons are not in that ring of my Venn Diagram, no.
@ProfessorPlum77 Thank you. I was thinking of Confuscius' circles of relationship.

Of the very many mispronunciations which I've noted, I don't remember having heard that complete fail of a rendering of the original---! "T" is not typically ever "mispronounced" as "k"...

Do you think it's laziness at simply not listening to the ends of words, or an attempt at being "funny"...?

@SomeMichGuy I am not sure why they do it.
@ProfessorPlum77 Nor am I.
🤷‍♂

C'est la vie.

We have a pub chain here in the UK called Wetherspoon's, lots of people call it Witherspoon's but they're not my friends.

@BlobbyMcBlobface Thank you.
No, but I had a friend who not only pronounced, but also wrote, "breakfast" as "breaftest".

I don’t think my friends shop in pajamas though I’m sure my Boston friends might pronounce it “Walmaht”.

Country folks do that for some reason around here. I call it "that effing place" and don't go near there. 🤣
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@TexChik Interesting.
The one I always noticed was the word "across" where they pronounce it "acrost". Super annoying once you hear it.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@JamesBugman I imagine.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I am unaware of that pronunciation.

So I will probably hear it three times tomorrow!
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP

It is often called Hell Mart here. I think it is because there are so many dimocrats that frequent the place.
