Self centered people might have grown up having all their needs met without any arguments from others. Or it could be a personality trait, very focused on themselves. It could be they put on false airs with others to avoid getting hurt. They could have suffered a big loss. There is always the possibility they believe the world owes them everything and not the other way around. They come across as people who are arrogant, self absorbed and only concerned with what they want.
