Anyone else have a friend who is really, really ill?

I have a friend with stage 3b inoperable lung cancer. He just finished his first round of chemo and radiation, did that for 6 weeks, and then went home where he became ill with pneumonia. He was hospitalized again, and then released to a rehab facility because his muscles are beginning to atrophy, and 4 days ago came down with a galloping case of C. Difficile. The rehab where he is staying is filthy with it, and the unsanitary practices are to blame.

I don't know how a weakened man, with lung cancer, is supposed to survive pneumonia and now this.

He sounds okay, on the phone, but I am afraid this will be the end of him.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can only hope that by some miracle things improve where he is hospitalized.

@Sapio He is in a rehab facility, and I believe quite honestly the place should be closed down, and a fire hose with 25% bleach and water should be applied to the entirety of the place. And then their staff should be rigorously trained...and slapped in the face when they lapse. I volunteer for that last bit.
