Is it rude for an online friend to message your friends?

How would you feel if your online friend went through your friends on social media, and started to message your best friend, opening the conversation by saying you have had a really tough time recently?

I feel like it goes against discretion and it's super rude.

Creepy af. They're insinuating themselves into your life without your permission. That screams of stalker behavior. Reminds me of that movie, Single White Female.
