Do you think it's rude to eat your food before others at the table receive theirs?

I thought it was, guess not.
Went out with new 'friends' . Two got their food first, then me. I told the last that I'd wait til she got hers. She declined and one chuckled as if there was something wrong with me not wanting her to be the only one at the table not eating..😕

I think when i was a kid there was this unwritten rule about waiting till everyone got served before starting but I am not sure this is still a thing, I've been to restaurants with people literally thousands of times and no one ever waits till everyone is served before starting.

@iamnikki I just think as people slowly lose their manners, you have kept a higher standard then the rest of us. people like you are important to remind us of proper manners. don't change, being polite and considerate is a wonderful thing.

@iamnikki that's how it felt, that's why i said something, i support niceness. one thing which is common in my part is to wait till everyone has arrived, is seated and ready to order before ordering.
