How many do you have real friends now?

A few years ago I could have answered 10 that I know that I know I could count on for anything ,above the call of duty type of things .
But death has taken a lot of them from me .it sucks to get old and loose so many people you love .
I was down to 2 ,,and then my ex business partner tracked me down recently
so now I am back up to 3 I know that I know I can call on for anything
and I know they will be there .

I have always been good at picking friends I know I can trust with my life
and some of us have put our lives on the line for each other ,
praying they see our bodies got home if things went wrong ,
but you know they wouldn't abandon you or let you down.
So my version of a true friend may not be the same as some peoples
Mine have proven they can be held to a higher standard ,nothing can bust us apart ,,especially crap like politics and religion .
I know mine wont betray me as many acquaintances have .

I know they won't cut and run when the crap gets scary ,flames or flood ,they would never abandon me ,nor I them .
I know if needed it ,they would donate blood or an organ for me in a heart beat ,be there for my family looking after them in their time of grief offering more then hollow words and lip service ,they would be there for them as I am for the kids of my friends who have passed .
(I am sure they are glad I have rare blood and that will never happen ,asking any pf them for an organ or bone marrow ,but I know they would )
But friends like mine are rare
See you at you're worst .over and over ,for a span of almost 50 yrs
and you can still count on them all ,they never abandoned me .

But I am tired of singing at funerals ,,its my turn now
3 pallbearers ,,when we used to have no trouble with getting 6
I am thankful for the ones I have left ,may the rest "rest in peace "
They have all earned the peace ,they put up with me
I was not always the easiest person to deal with ,but I am loyal and faithful

A few close ones

I have at least a dozen people that I consider true friends.

Zero friends unless you count my fiance.

A few that I've met on here and elsewhere.

Zero. They are not trustable.

Maybe one or two

Not many ..I'm picky

Few. None closer
