Do you think that people who are normally quite emotional about things are able to think properly or make good decisions?

@Pitchblue I think intelligent people talk about everything, including ideas AND other people. But we might make a case for gossiping being a poor choice for anyone who wants to learn and grow.

@Pitchblue Hmm. Good question. I suppose it can be used as a tool to point out actions that resulted in embarrassment, scandal, or failure...as a cautionary tale. In other words, don't do that...or..."So and so did this and that and what a hypocrite!" (Pointing out that it is better to behave according to some basic moral tenets). Unfortunately, much more often, it is gloating and wallowing in jealousy satisfied.

@4meAndyou Pointing out how badly someone failed when your child was doing exactly what they were doing, ex: Drugs and Alcohol might be a good way to point out the consequences of your actions.
