We are neighbors and have known each other for years. Her mom is most likely going to buy the house from my parents and she actually told me that her, her mom, and her step dad would make it work so I don't have to move with my parents.

@SW-User I'm over 40 and I am not going to fudge anything...of course it's okay and not weird. Friendship truly does not recognize age. Age differences in friendship can be enlightening and offer a lot of learning, understanding, and sharing. Any thing more than friendship could possibly get a little (or even very) weird. But there have been people in my life that I considered my friend and they were different in age (both younger as well as much older) than myself.
