How do you get to know people on SW?

One of the things I used to love about EP (and what brought me back here) is that there are some really intelligent, witty people that come here. Of course there are a lot of trolls mixed in too. What kinds of questions do you ask people when you meet them to help decide whether they are a quality connection and worth getting to know better?

First of all I have no expectations. That avoids disappointment. Any connection or friendship that developes happens by random chance and by both recognizing the click.
