Should I cut ties already?

I am angry with my friend. Now, he is spreading our conversation in facebook and playing the victim. I am too tired and too frustrated to talk to him. He is the type of person that if you don't agree with what he likes, you're not his friend. We have been friends for 5 years now and, now, I am not sure if I should just ignore this or really drop this guy. I am in good communication with his family but he is just tiring me out.

Uh. You are listed as age 26-30. Sounds like you're dealing with an angsty teen. Also, anyone who blasts anything personal like that on Facebook for all to see clearly don't cherish privacy or know the first thing about sitting down and talking things out, you know, like adults. I personally cut people off like that. I don't tolerate that kind of drama.

BUT if he is a long time friend, maybe you should confront him personally. What is his problem. Seriously.

@catalyst We've tried that already. His family and I. When he started doing drugs, we were there to make him stop. When he is facing financial problems, we chipped in to help him. Every single time. I just really hate seeing his mom cry and his dad frustrated. They don't deserve him.

@nameless As much as that sucks, his life is entirely separate from yours and it is not your responsibility. My brother has done hard drugs for the past decade. I get it, it's heart wrenching. But you still need to create boundaries even if it means delivering tough love. You can still be supportive while separating yourself. He just needs to understand that his actions have consequences :)
