Oh gosh, that’s awkward. You are a nice friend to lend that money though.
GeminiRain · M
That is a lot of money, she is someone I would trust again
Prince0217 · M
Yes and relatives as well.
LooseyGoosey · 26-30, F
@Prince0217 this is even worse sometimes because they feel even less obligation to give it back lol
jackson55 · M
Never loan money you cant afford to loose.
LooseyGoosey · 26-30, F
@jackson55 good advice although I’d rather be able to help a friend in need and them be loyal enough to pay it back without them being a dick about it lol
jackson55 · M
@LooseyGoosey I agree. Friends are sometimes the worse ones to loan anything to.

@LooseyGoosey yeah a cousin in my mother's country once hit us up for money for her school i gave her a few hundred but she kept asking for more and finally i was like no i don't think so .. she finished school there tho and is a teacher in her country.. her dad said she could have had a high paying government job but she preferred teaching instead . anyway i was just annoyed because she was like going to malls and vacations and we were out working and she kept asking us for more and more money for school and i just didn't believe it was legit anymore like we're not made of money and then her relatives were like asking for money too .. i was like nah i don't think so .. not everyone over here is rich .. we are like poorer than you lol
LooseyGoosey · 26-30, F
@GoFish wtf she’s just taking you for a ride as well that’s awful
GoFish ·
@LooseyGoosey yeah it was a long time ago lol she said she'd pay us back but she never did (neither did i ever expect her to) i was just helping her finish university but i felt like she was overdoing it asking for funds and i started to think it wasn't actually needed for her school she just felt like we were $$$ to be had imo and i was like nope no more
eyeno · M
Yup, I learned too
Guess you'll have to take her to court suing her for attorneys fees plus interest, also time loss.

MiserableAtBest · 22-25, F
People who intend to pay you back will do so even if it’s $10 at a time… I don’t think you’ll be seeing that money again my friend :((
LooseyGoosey · 26-30, F
@MiserableAtBest probably not :( damn it
dale74 · M
Never loan to friends give to them.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, MVIP
OK. So $2,000 is beyond her. Lets try "Ï need $500 next month "and see if she can manage it in bite size chunks. What do you have to lose?😷
LooseyGoosey · 26-30, F
@whowasthatmaskedman I said to her you can pay me in monthly instalments of 100 if you want and she said the same thing oh I’ll have to see lol. She’s taking me for a ride so I’m going to have to step it up a bit
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, MVIP
@LooseyGoosey In that case, yes. The trust in the relationship is already gone.😷
ArtieKat · M
@LooseyGoosey Tell her you want to borrow her bed until you can afford to get your own
BillyMack · 46-50, M
It’s usually friends or family that take advantage of this the most
OriginalDumbMan · 36-40
Same here. You become beggar for your own money.
lomaine · 26-30, F
Been there done that ut might not help in yiur case hut ask if this friend always in need or only around when she wants a favor. I just ended a decade long friendship part of it was the 1200 dollars i lend out but it juat revealed issues that has pretty much always been there
Yep, I learned the same lesson years ago. Either be prepared to give the money away as a gift or just don't ever expect to see it back. People who need to borrow money from friends or family often have no financial self control.
Swoop62 · M
You have to think of it as giving it to a friend if you do loan to friends and hope they pay you back on their own. Also can lose that friend if they really were one as they will avoid you thinking you may ask for the money.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
I only ever lend if I don't care to get paid back. That way it's a nice surprise when I do rather than a weight that sits over the friendship
Selah ·
I find it's better to just give people money and hold it over their head for eternity
LooseyGoosey · 26-30, F
@Selah I do have one over on her now but she doesn’t give a fuck so it’s no fun 😒
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
If I give friends or family money it’s with the expectation I won’t get it back.
