Behind a Name

Behind this name, I try to show,
The care I feel, you’ll never know.
No smile for you to clearly see,
Yet still, your words mean much to me.

You can’t hear laughter, soft and true,
Or see my eyes light up for you.
But in each line I leave behind,
I hope some warmth is what you find.

I may be hidden, far, and still—
A name alone, but full of will,
To be your peace, your little light,
Though I’m just letters typed at night.
