Should I tolerate someone just because they are "real" ?

Would you put up with someone even when you're not genuinely interested just because they are a great person ? I find this guy death boring, but he tells me I should allow him in my personal space because he is the kind of person who will be there when I need someone. I've always wanted real friends. What do I do ?

Yeah, that’s not a good basis for even a friendship. And someone who’d try and guilt you into keeping them around, isn’t really a friend. You’re losing nothing.
