Did you ever think you were friends with someone and then realised.. Well it was all one sided. 😔

I rather wonder what do they still write me for if they stop after a short time. Or is there something wrong with my replies? Last time I told my childhood friend about that one time this year I had fun and suddenly no reply. Another friend told me he was coming to my city and asked if I'd like to meet him. A couple of days later he wrote that after reading about what's going on here politically he doesn't feel like coming anymore so I replied "thank you for your support". Like..I live here, what was I supposed to say to that?
