What would you think about a father that made this comment to their own daughter?

“If I wasn’t your father I still wouldn’t look your way”

WT ACTUAL F?!

“If I wasn’t your father

Um, ok, IF <he were NOT your father>...

I still wouldn’t look your way”

...THEN <he "still" would NOT look your way>

What an odd construction.

So...he thinks his own daughter is not pretty/attractive [he doesn't look at her NOW]...

...but EVEN* if he were NOT her father, he "STILL" would not be interested.

*This word would have helped make parsing it by ear much easier.

Ok, I thought it said the opposite, but embedded in it is the idea that it is improper for fathers to look at their daughters in "that" way [lusting after them]...

But he's saying he STILL would not look at his daughter EVEN IF he were free to do so.

Hmmmm.

This suggests a whole context--what was said or done before this--which would shed light on it, but (working with what I see here) I can see this as either

1) a slam against his daughter, saying she's undesirable/not pretty,

OR

2) he's angry at himself because he HAS been noticing his daughter's womanly charms/allure and was called on it/teased about it.

If you are the daughter--or the husband of the guy saying this to his daughter--
I'm sorry.

If you have more context, you can sort this out, I think...
