What are more important in life: friends or acquaintences?

I said to a friend, "With friends like you I don't need acquaintences." He replied, "No, you always need acquaintences. Acquaintences are very important."

Imo, friends. But yeah both are cool. Friends are extremely rare but acquaintances keep me grounded and tethered :3
