How do you make friends in the real world?
I am in a new place and seem to have no clue.

Probably the way you do anywhere in the world. People usually don't come to you, you have to reach out and come to them. Introduce yourself. Go to Denny's or a fast food restaurant inside, sit at the table and say hello to people as they pass and make friends. You could even visit a bowling alley or something, or a church and make friends. Join a gym.
