I love Herman Hesse

“We are sun and moon, dear friend; we are sea and land. It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is: each the other's opposite and complement.”

Hermann Hesse, Narcissus and Goldmund

I recognize that author’s name!
@Pfuzylogic

He’s a great writer…

@Soossie I think it was the Siddhartha Novel which we read in Hogh School.
I read a nice follow up Novel that I read on my own
“The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” by Robert Persig.
@Pfuzylogic

Yes, Siddhartha is one of his books and a bit heavy for a high schooler but not for you even if at primary school my friend… 🤗🤗

@Soossie
You are very generous as always.
My dad got frustrated at me since i put these Novels as a higher priority than my studies.
@Pfuzylogic

Lol… I can’t blame him but you did what felt right and that’s why you are the man that you are now… 🤗

@Soossie
That was when i dove into modern French existentialism. It seemed important at the time.
@Pfuzylogic

J.P. Sartre, too was great…

@Soossie
I couple him with Camus!
@Pfuzylogic

Yes both of them and let’s not forget Simone de Beauvoir… it was unfortunate that Sartre and Camus split over some conflict of opinion

@Soossie
I will need to google Simone.
I always spent my time on Nietzsche and Kafka!
@Pfuzylogic

Nietzsche is one of my most favorite philosophers and Kafka was great but his works always made me depressed …

Simone was Sartre’s wife and a strong woman philosopher/writer …

@Soossie
I found Nietzsche very poetic and inspiring in his writings.
I was always amazed by Kafka’s Novels “ the trial” and “ the castle”. The structure of his story showed very strong attention to syntax and words used. I liken him to a craftsman.
@Pfuzylogic

I completely agree about Nietzsche … He is poetic and very beautiful especially in Thus Said Zarathustra..

My favorite book by Kafka is The Metamorphosis… that’s a very good book and thought provoking…
Pfuzylogic · M
@Soossie That was the book I was thinking of when I made the statement about Nietzsche. The book could send shivers up my spine.
Metamorphosis was Kafka’s most well known writing. It gives a novel/new reader a taste of who he is.
