I know I do. It just leaves a gross bitter aftertaste when you learn someone you liked to interact with harbors beliefs that are unacceptable to you and in total conflict with your moral values.
@CrazyMusicLover you do have a point. For me, some crucial ethical differences can end friendships.
I supoose it depends what you find out. I mean, ive deleted 'friends' not from interactions with them, but by interactions ive seen with others. Someone seemed a total gentleman till i found out he was a creepy old predator leech to barely legal aged girls. I dont often let one element end a friendship....but i found some things are just deal breakers.
@OogieBoogie I am sorry to hear that about your creepy old predator friends...🤣 JK!!!!
No, seriously, my friend and I have already patched things over privately. If I KNOW that my friends have ethical or religious differences I can accept them and love them for who they are. I was just blind sided...did not KNOW that I was offending. Also, I should probably not be reading posts at 4:30 a.m. when I can't sleep.
If I know in advance, I am usually VERY diplomatic.
And i think thats what makes any conflict harder. I mean, if they are wishy washy with little depth....its easy to not care or give a shit. But when its someone you DO care about ....words can cut deeper.
Its so hard to step back and not get pulled down by a hurt.
