I'm at a point in my life, where people don't believe me when I tell my life experiences

The places I have been to and situations i worked my way out of. I'm starting to see why people tend to associate with like-minded people more than their childhood friends. I thought I could balance the two but I realized hanging around those you grew up with alot of times drag you down even without you noticing. I got to stop lower myself to make people around me feel comfortable.

The more I do with my life, the more people wanna mooch, but they don’t even understand how it works. Half of the achievement is having the strength and courage to get there. To do the thing. If they would treat me like I’m still me (because I am) it’d be fine.

It's a shame we can't elevate those in our past that helped get us to where we are now. People change though, I guess, and we no longer share... um... similar worlds . 😬😬

I only kept one friend from childhood, not counting fb acquaintances - and I see her once or twice a year.

Yeah, there's one friend I've kept from when we were kids. The rest can go fly a kite.
