do you think it is important to have people to take care of you later on in life

in your twilight years? what if you do not have that? i am a person who won't have anyone to take care of me, as the only support i have is my elderly mother & father who i will outlive...i don't want people to feel sorry for me but i ask, what if you won't have people to support you -take care of you later on in life?

i definitely don't want to be taken care of by the state.......that's a nightmare to me...any thoughts?

This is why community and fellowship is so important yet so many are lacking. If you dont have distant cousins/nephews/nieces, your only hope would be community, neighbors or members of some sort of fellowship to care for you if not then yes you would become a ward of the state if/when you can no longer care for yourself.

i only have my mother and father as i said, becoming cared for by the state is not an option for me, so i'll have to kill myself when my mother and father pass.

I didn't think that far ahead, but if I was still single and childless, probably would pay some struggling student to take care of me.

Absolutely. I can think of no worse fate than being alone and dealing with that.
