It's spread by skin on skin contact so as long as your intimate partner doesn't tend to rub up against a lot of people, it should be fine. For now it's way more prevalent in the gay male community, though everyone should be aware and looking out for sores in the people around them
@plungesponge Thanks, This sounds far more logical than other explanations.

@plungesponge 99% infection rate isn’t way more prevalent. It’s almost EXCLUSIVE .
@AthrillatheHunt Being this early on with this disease process the numbers are likely to fluctuate rather wildly with various consideration of vaccine availability, location, disease will be majorly different between Palm Springs Ca. and little house on the prairie North Eastern North Dakota. I really wouldn't quibble over infection stats yet.

@Grateful4you no one is quibbling about a gay man infection rate of 99.2%.
I strongly oppose calling this a general health crisis .
@AthrillatheHunt Have you heard of what health professionals are saying? I haven'[t heard anything from Dr.Faucci yet. (Yet another target of right wing hatred)

@Grateful4you imagine if the infection rate was 99% for women . Or 99% for black people.
Breast cancer is referred to as a woman’s health crisis .
Why isnt this pox rightfully labeled as a gay mens health crisis is what I am wondering .
