Someone from my high school died

I’m sorry. How did he die?

It reminds me of a weird story. a year after highschool (33 years ago) someone told me a really nice French guy I knew named Les had died. I had last seen him at a shopping mall right after grad and he offered me a ride home but my mom was already on her way to pick me up. I was really, really saddened by the news. I have often thought about him over the years and thought how tragic it was. Three months ago I got a Facebook friend request from him. Turns out he never died but had moved back to Montreal after hs.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. He was so young. It hurts younger people departed earlier than myself.

Statistically, 20% of the people you went to school with will die before the age of 30. Sadly from my own experience this has been true.

It happens a lot the older you get, I was still in school when a friend died.

I'm sorry. 19 seems to be some kind of tough age. My brother lost a friend to steroid abuse and my other friend's nephew ODd as well.
