Sort of. I've reached out in some way to people I was once close friends with, when something had gone awry. When I've done that more than once or twice and they don't return a call or email, I realize I valued our friendship more than they did.

@AliceNoctem Yes. There has always been a sadness and hurt about it, for me anyway, when it was someone I felt was a close friend. One time, even though I'd been wondering if I ought to think of the person as a close "friend" anymore.
