Do advertisements persuade you into buying things?
To me they're hellaciously annoying and infiltrating every crevice of my brain. Everywhere I look they're flashing in my face, insultingly, insinuatingly targeted at my demographic.

The main thing ads persuade me into buying is the ad-free version of the service!
My wife & I like to watch some sports on TV, but we watch thru a DVR. So we'll start watching a game an hour after they start playing the game. And then we use the skip 30 sec button to jump thru all the 3 min blocks of ads. When the Olympics come on we pay for Peacock and stream events and jump over most of the yackety-yacking.
