Do advertisements persuade you into buying things?

To me they're hellaciously annoying and infiltrating every crevice of my brain. Everywhere I look they're flashing in my face, insultingly, insinuatingly targeted at my demographic.

Almost never. I tend to use commercials as an opportunity to do something else. But one of the things I like about VIP is not seeing ads here.
