Heinz Baked Beans

This is really more to do with a dumb advert I've just seen with a (presumably) English holidaymaker in Spain, crying his eyes out because he had run out of Heinz Baked Beans thathe had taken on holiday with him.

As much as anything else, I'd have thought Heinz being a global brand, the beans would have been easily available in Spain.

The campaign is based on the discovery of recent newspaper articles reporting that Brits were having tins of baked beans confiscated at airport security. In a nod to Ringo Starr’s legendary Heinz-filled suitcase during a tour of India, the ad tells the story of a holidaymaker who is bereft of his beloved beans after his luggage goes missing. It's part of a campaign by Heinz to emphasise the emotional connection between its products and British consumers.
@Richard65 ....but why smuggle them ? Aren't they available in the countries they're visiting?

@jackieash27 the canned beans variety are not widely available in Spain, as their stores tend to stock the healthier options, like kidney beans, fava beans, garbanzo beans and lentils.

Cans are confiscated at UK airports because of a ban on the transport of liquids on commercial airlines and the fact that tins are difficult to x-ray at airport security. This is a big deal to a typical Brit.

Different countries often have Tewks or adjustments to the recipe.
It could be that Brit’s don’t think they will be able to get them
It could just be a daft ad scenario like perfumes making you fly.
