The only wine-ish alcohol I've had on a less-than-occasional basis is Mead (classified as honey wine). Never cared for the other types I've tried.

With that being said, I've only had no more than a handful of times. Never been to a wine tasting, so my limited exposure and opinions are extremely biased.

But I tried mead, cold and at room temperature. Which I found, room temp the most enjoyable. 🥴
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Levenrack do you still drink mead? I know of other equivalents. Perhaps too strong though.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer Oh no, it's not that. I joined the sobriety club a little over a year ago now.
And don't worry about talking about it. I'm good. 👍 😌
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Levenrack understand now. 👍🏻

CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Champagne and white wine in general a bit cooler, red wine always room temperature. I don't like cold red wine.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Elessar If you have room temperature 35°C, you shouldn't have any wine at all. 😆
Elessar · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover *sad Po' Valley noises*
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@CrazyMusicLover Champagne is traditionally a blend of white (Chardonnay) and black (Pinot Noir) grapes, so perhaps an exception to the rule 🍇

In the summer I put opened red wine in the fridge where it can stay a few days. When I pour it and bring it outside on a hot day the glass gets frosty and I think it tastes pretty good! Certain reds are better suited, I'd say the lighter ones...
If it’s summer and it’s white wine, i like it a bit chilled.
Red wine is room temperature (or a bit lower but not cold)

( during christmas time, gluhwein which is hot red wine with spices is so good to drink when it’s very cold :) )
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@BloviatingBuffoon

That stuff is pretty good on a cold winter night.
@DrWatson there’s also a non alcoholic version of it. In some christmas markets.. I remember when I was pregnant ( or thinking i was) , i refrained from drinking it and they offered me a non alcoholic one lol
eyeno · M
Since I'm not a big wine fan
I'll always ask the waiter for their recommendation at dinner.

If drinking a wine cooler than I'll settle for whatever is being served.

@eyeno Now that is what I call a big wine!
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
I like to experiment. We have a supply of German wine made from local variety grapes that produce aromatic, spicy flavours quite low in alcohol that can be completely obliterated by chilling. On the other hand, some of their red wines are transformed when you put them in the fridge.
I think it does …

I like my Chardonnay chilled, but with red wine I like it room temperature .. 🌸🌸❤

@Soossie Perfect!
@BlobbyMcBlobface

Thank you ..
BlobbyMcBlobface · 56-60, M
I make wine and certain wines, reds, must be room temperature. White wine should be removed from the fridge 20 minutes before opening, for optimum flavour.
Mum told me that a glass of white wine should always be held by the stem, because the heat from your hand holding the bulb of the glass affects the taste.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@jackieash She is clearly drinking it too slowly..😷
sciguy18 · M
I generally have wine at room temperature. The exception is white dessert wine which I like slightly chilled.
22Michelle · 70-79, T
Depends on whag the room temperature is. Normally red wine is best at room temperature. White wine very slightly chilled. Too much chilling and flavour disappears.
Piper · 61-69, F
Chilled.

I prefer white wine, the rare times I drink it. More specifically, a German Piesporter.
I like my sweet wines chilled. Merlot etc i like room temperature
AdaXI · T
I chill any alcoholic beverage, I've never given any thought to whether it's suppose to be or not, LOLZ😄

DragonFruit · 70-79, M
Red wine should be served at 55-60°F (which is chilled slightly). "Room temperature" ins wine cellar is fi e, but in mist rooms it's warmer than it should be served.
White wine should be served at a cooler temperature, zbout 45-50°F.
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
Chilled.

Sometimes even with ice!
@DrWatson That is so cool ! One of my friends used to tease us about putting an ice cube in wine—until someone brought boxed wine to a get-together. "That’s the kind of wine that deserves ice,"
she told us. 😅
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard

I have never tried stevia.

I once searched Google for sucralose (Splenda) soda, and got a Walmart ad for Zevia.

I was all excited until I learned it is sweetened with stevia. Google search failed me.

I suppose I could at least try it, though.
JoyfulSilence · 51-55, M
@DrWatson

In general, I think most wine is too dry and bitter. Ice helps thin it in addition to making it cold. I prefer lighter, sweeter, and more fruity wine. The Olive Garden had a cheap red one, Roscato Rosso Dolce, that I liked. Nice and gentle, and sweet.

(Sorry for the low quality image, but all the high quality ones won't display here!)

Sometimes when I had a little left and an empty glass of water with leftover ice in it, I would pour the wine on the ice and slurp it with a straw. 😋
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I`m not a wine drinker.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
White wines chilled, reds room temperature.

White wines don't last long without being chilled after opening either.
If it's white or rosé, chilled. If it's red, room temp.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
Whatever the temperature is in the wine cellar (basement) usually around 60 or so.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
Chilled, but the temperature depends on the wine.
WormMan · 56-60, M
Red room temp, white chilled
tindrummer · M
Sweet, cold, white Zinfandel for me. 😋
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Red wine, room temp. White wine, chilled.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
I like whites chilled. Reds, which I drink less often, at room temperature.
The standard rule states red wine is served at room temp while white is served chilled.
@onrealityofdreams I see. 🧐
@bijouxbroussard Cheers! 🍷
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
What temperature is the room?😷
Elessar · 31-35, M
White chilled, red room temperature
Captain · 61-69, M
White chilled, red as hot as my lady friend...
DarthInvader · 36-40, M
Wine is disgusting
