Whiskey is my weakness

I forgot how much I like whisky. Bought a bottle the other day, been enjoying it. Ex was alcoholic so I rarely drank alcohol.

Always liked drinking whiskey with her dad, even when she'd give me those disapproving gazes. Makes me think about family more.

I've got plans to rejoin my family, but it'll be another 10 years. I rarely see them due to distance, but can't leave my current location due to children. In 10 years, kids be at University and I'll be free to leave.

I fear I won't make enough money to live near my family. It's very expensive and I don't make a lot of money. Been thinking of alternatives - living on a sailboat or van. I've time to figure it out, but I think about it.

So I feel the warmth of whiskey and think these thoughts. And post them. I don't have a lot of answers but I've lived and am thinking of the future.

So dating... I haven't tried yet, not sure if I'm in a good place yet. I want to, but so much advise about not for at least a year, maybe several years. Advise to work on myself , whatever that means... Therapy? Contemplating life? Analyze 20+ marriage for mistakes?

Whiskey... Makes me feel warm and think these things. Random thoughts.

Whiskey is the nectar of the gods. I prefer a nice oaked bourbon but I enjoy Scotch and Irish also. What about a tiny house. No property tax then and mobile. Definitely give yourself some time.

@RuyLopez Woodford Double Oaked is some good stuff. For Irish I love Redbreast, but cheaper options are Kilbrin and even good old Jameson.

@IsitevenMe Yes Sir! Its like you peeked in my liquor cabinet. I have been quickly working through a bottle of the Woodford Double Oaked. It more than lived up to all the hype. It will be restocked immediately. Can't say anything more about Redbreast. All time favorite of any whiskey. Have you tried Tyrconnell? It is another inexpensive Irish that is very good. I need to make a run to Total Wine. I'll pick up a bottle of the Kilbrin. Need something I have tried. Thanks for the suggestion!

@RuyLopez I haven’t tried that one, will give it a try if I can find it. Have you looked at the Whiskey of the month from Total wine? They have never lead me wrong and they had a Kilbrin they recommended a few months ago. Not sure if all sites are the same in what they recommend, but take a look.
