I Am a Vegetarian

I was brought up a vegetarian by both my mum and dad. Since day one, I do believe, they brought me up as one.

Have I ever been tempted to eat meat? No, not really. I don't understand how someone can love animals AND eat them. Ok, so I wear leather products and you can say that I'm a hypocrite for that, but it's just as much about where you draw your own personal line being a vegetarian.

For me, that's as a ova-lacto vegetarian; one that eats eggs and drinks milk.

Do I ever feel like I'm 'missing out' as a vegetarian? Well, we'll always be seen as outsiders, that's for sure, but that doesn't bother me none.

My hubby is also a vegetarian, likewise my children. I don't feel that they have missed out any valuable nutriants or minerals for being so. They're strong and healthy.

Being a vegetarian is fun. I love the fact that people say 'so what do you eat?' and you remind them that they consume just a handful of meat/fish based products yet there's HUNDRED's OF THOUSANDS of different plants they you can eat......always stops them in their tracks....

So.....that's me.
