And did they try and stop you buying the meat, labeling you a murderer, and a Nazi, telling you that the animal you are buying wanted to live.

One at a landscape & garden center lectured a man who was in his early 50’s about how cruel it is to consume dairy products. He waited patiently till the lecture was over (and it was verbatim from something that had been flowing over the internet the previous week). Then he replied “ That’s why I always raise a calf and pasture-feed it and butcher it for my own meat.” That shut her up and was waiting till she came to me with her spiel but she didn’t and walked on. Calling calves “baby cows” was a big clue about her cluelessness.
