The vegan options at McDonalds in the states are so sad compared to Europe.

It’s so interesting to me how American companies choose to be more advanced/progressive in other countries.

Why should a burger joint become more vegan? Do vegans lack places to eat?

Yes.

@ninalanyon but is McDonald's really the answer? Ew. 😅

@StrictLoving McDonald's in Europe has got much better in recent decades. Not my favourite place to eat but it is sometimes convenient when I am driving between Norway and the UK to stop at McDonald's for a snack. I imagine that if I were a vegan I would be grateful that any fast food outlet had any vegan food because it really isn't very common.

@ninalanyon my thinking was more along the lines of

it doesn't matter what the question is, the answer is not McDonald's.

@StrictLoving Twenty years ago I would have said the same thing but in northern Europe now they are not so bad, at least if all I want is a cup of coffee and some fries, the use of the wifi, and the lavatory. They are usually clean and efficient. I never eat the burgers, not because they are especially bad but because the bread they are wrapped in doesn't deserve the name, but that goes for every other burger place I have ever visited too.
