Why are people so rude to vegans ?

Because vegans remind them of the moral implications of the practice of killing and eating sentient beings. Stereotyping vegans as overly pushy & anemic is an effective way to avoid engaging with the reasoning behind our decisions. It's not entirely unlike how conservatives and proto-fascists will laser focus in on rioters and "reverse racists" (for lack of a better term) to distract from a very serious conversation about racial justice in America.

@BlueVeins Killing plants is not immoral? Plants produce oxygen that we breathe.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MrBrownstone Cows eat plants too bud, if your goal is to save the plants, you better be eating a bacteria-only diet or some shit.

@BlueVeins People ate cows for hundreds of years.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MrBrownstone So? People also conducted human sacrifices, enslaved one another, and crushed women's feet for hundreds of years. That doesn't make it any less bad.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@BlueVeins People didn’t care about climate change for hundreds of years either.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MrBrownstone So, we're in agreement then? Tradition doesn't make bad things good?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@BlueVeins If you can tell me a point in earths history the climate didn’t change.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MrBrownstone That's a little like insisting that the bubonic plague wasn't serious bc people are always dying of disease

like yeah ok, but not this rapidly 👀
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@BlueVeins No. it’s called a point you can’t answer.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MrBrownstone A'ight if you're too dense to pick up the implication w/o it explicitly saying it, then I'll be even clearer. There's been no time in world history when the climate hasn't been changing. The issue is that the climate is changing at a much, much faster rate than ever before in the existence of civilization.

MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@BlueVeins Took long enough for you to answer. Exactly my point. Climate changes no matter what. Change is constant. Stop worrying about it.

@MrBrownstone Level 0 comprehension skills on display right there
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@BlueVeins No. Just destroyed your argument and your coping mechanism is insults. Insults mean I won the debate. Thanks!

@MrBrownstone Plants can regenerate from seeds though and many even depend on people eating them to spread seeds so they can spread and then get replanted back into the soil. When animals are killed, they have to do more and more extreme measures to keep up with consumerism, thus unethical. There's only one of that animal, to make it breed more, you have to do uh.. some shady stuff to get bigger animals and more and more and more and more animals.
