Why do people not know how to order a Subway sandwich? That’s why they came with the new menu. Yet, people still struggle in the line!

If they can't choose a sandwich in what is only a take-away food shop, what hope have they for genuinely important decisions?

I have used a Subway branch only once - and don't recall more than perhaps 20 seconds to choose from a list of, let's face it, what are merely over-promoted bread-rolls with assorted salad fillings. Nice enough, but nowt special.

The sauce was more difficult! The only choices - dictated, I was told, from New York some 3000 miles of ocean away - seemed only spicy oils and mayonnaise. No salad-cream, my normal option.

Oh the irony. An American firm not knowing the salad-cream is very popular in Britain where its leading brand has long been Heinz, another American company.
