Do you challenge people or just keep quiet

I was waiting outside Burger King on St Andrew's Street once. A guy parked on the pavement wound down his car window and threw his wrappers on the floor, even though he was parked next to a bin. An old man, picked them up, tapped on the driver's window, and threw the wrappers into the car. I expected some sort of row, but the driver just got out of his car and put the rubbish in the bin.

That is one of the most inspiring stories I have heard this year 👍

@SunshineGirl It was. I'm not sure I would do the same.

@Lugwho My daughter would without hesitation . . but of course I would be wary about encouraging her.

@SunshineGirl I had an awkward situation on the tube once, when two men started to attack me. A young women stepped in and stopped them, by just telling them to leave me alone. I was very grateful but wouldn't encourage my daughter to do the same.

@Lugwho It's natural, particularly as you get older and more cautious. But of course the surest way for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing.

@SunshineGirl yes, that's very true.
