I always thought we could at the very least remain civil to each other.
Then after she got what she wanted at the financial settlement I thought she'd calm down.
Then when she got a boyfriend I thought this'll be good all round, turned out he couldn't cope with her.
Then if I just played out the accommodating father she'd eventually settle down.
Nope I was wrong at every turn, she wanted me to remain as a puppet on a string forever. No. No, I paid a significant sum of money to get rid you don't get to keep me too.
