Some words of wisdom from potato about the weather

Funny how our body just adjusts! There was a time when I thought early 20s degrees (Celsius) was cold weather. Now when the temperature is 0 or slightly below zero that’s a day when I dress lighter or open my jacket while walking because I am getting too warm!

It is also weird because it is not a one time adjustment. I feel my body forgets what cold felt like when the summer starts. Towards the end as the fall starts and temperature starts dropping I get too cold easier, but once real winter starts and it is well cold, my body had adjusted and what would make me feel cold in the fall would never impact me as such during winter!

This April will be my third year in Canada (time flies) and quite frankly I think people exaggerate Canada’s winters especially in places like Toronto where I don’t really see it that unbearable cold! Or maybe it is just me, idk 🤷🏽‍♀ I do have that attitude a lot in life! I notice it especially at work.. I feel sometimes people are drama queens very easily! Complaining about stupid things that I wouldn’t even think twice about.. I can be very cynical sometimes with a meh attitude.. Just get it done or work it out. I felt the same with the change of weather. People complain day and night when it is snowing or dark, to me, yea it is cold outside but meh, is it really impacting me that much, I don’t think so 🥔🤷🏽‍♀

I grew up in Northeast Ohio, which has a climate similar to Toronto.

But we got lake effect snow from Lake Erie. I think Toronto is mostly upwind from Lake Ontario.

I have been to Toronto a few times. But only in summer!

I live near DC now. Much milder. It is 7 C here now and raining.

There's the body adjusting to it bt also spring and fall is usually damp which even though it is warmer, it chills too much deeper. -10C is cold but the air is usually dry so kt doesnt cut and chill nearly as bad as say 5C in the spring when the air is damp.

You’ve finally become an official canuck! You’d fit in around here too.
