Does the US feel has no power anymore with Canada and major European countries recognizing Palestine in the UN despite the US position on the subject?

Remember when “ally” countries used to listen to the US especially when it came to Israel? I thought Trump was going to make the US all powerful and great again. All I see him doing is threatening and being ignored.

Trump knows that insisting on red lines regarding recognition isn't a hill worth dying on. He's perfectly happy to ignore what's going on in Gaza and retain his leverage over Europe with his tariffs.

@LegendofPeza his do called leverage has resulted in obvious increases in virtually everything we buy today. Our economy is suffering. He is now trying to help baily out the farmers, making them for all intents and purposes employees of the US government.

@LegendofPeza I don’t see it as much leverage but rather other countries are making friends with each other because they have the same enemy which in this case is the US.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@BittersweetPotato Yep , even when Trump has gone , the suspicion and the ill-will will remain. The idea that US foreign policy is now contingent on which party is in power necessitates a completely new strategic mindset from the Europeans , Canada and others. No-one will ever trust the US again the way they once did.

Those are the facts (Thanks to trump) But most Americans dont recognise it yet..😷
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
What do you mean by power in Canada?

Define “the US.”
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@RedBaron The US
RedBaron · M
@BittersweetPotato Who? The government? 324 million people? “The US” is a nebulous entity.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@RedBaron The US
I think the rest of the world understands that with the current administration the U.S.’ opinion isn’t so reliable anymore.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard I doubt, we're collectively electing the same policies and nonsense virtually everywhere...

@Elessar So everyone’s gone collectively crazy, gearing up for another Holocaust ? 😞
It's symbolic, not real. The population demands something.

He insists on always being the center of attention and doesn't realize how bad he is for his nation and the world. Hopefully he'll disappear soon.
The UN is all a show. Performers everywhere. No-one cares about anyone there. Just talking to their own voters.
firefall · 61-69, M
Everything he's doing seems to be aimed at shrinking the US and making it less powerful and more ridiculous

The rest of the world is leaving the USA behind because the US has proven itself to be an impotent nation on the world stage.
