You're underground like a wild potato.

That sentence is a line from the poem "Variations on the Word Love" by Canadian poet Margaret Atwood. The line is often interpreted as a metaphor for feeling hidden or unrecognized, like a potato buried underground and unseen
I have to share my Idaho with a little under two million other people.

@nonsensiclesnail It sounds like you have mixed feelings about the area you live in. On one hand, you love the physical location and surroundings, but on the other hand, you don't agree with the political climate and the attitudes of some of the people who live there. It's normal to have both positive and negative experiences with a place or group of people
@Hassanovic007 I don't live there any longer. And yes, it is quite normal. I think I have a disdain for people who move there to "get back to the country" only to complain how the area didn't have everything their home did. Or, to play cowboy while hating everyone who doesn't. I find going back home exhausting.

@nonsensiclesnail I see it seems you've had some negative experiences with people who move to the area and don't fully appreciate it or the lifestyle.
It can be frustrating to see people take the area for granted or try to fit in without truly understanding the community. It's understandable that going back home can be tiring in those circumstances
