How do potatoes resolve their fights? They hash it out 🤔 can anyone explain why is this funny? I don't get it. Is it an American thing?

@NerdyPotato do you get it?

Edit: I wasn't aware of the term "hash it out" and that it meant "work it out".

"hash it out" means "work it out," and "hash" is a reference to hashbrowns. it's a pun lol. :)
@lovelywarpedlemon I didn't get that meaning from Google haha thanks. So it's an American thing after all 😃
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether yeah "hash it out" is like ... when you are making a skillet breakfast with whatever you can find & it's kinda a crazy process with everything coming together, you just have a random mix of stuff coming together to make a meal out of. so "hashing it out" is working with whatever "flies into the pan," so to speak, whatever situation you might find yourself in, you just "hash it out". work with what you've got to make something from it.

@BittersweetPotato Yes -- it's time to move on to yams and other root veggies!

@BittersweetPotato should we talk away French fries or hash browns next?

Since some potatoes like french...
The word "hash" is derived from the French word "hacher" which means to hack or chop. This means hashed browned potatoes literally translates to "chopped and fried potatoes".

Hash it out is an idiom (I'm not sure if it's just American or not, it may apply in the UK as,well). It neans ti work something out by discussing it.
Hash browns are a popular qay of preparing potatoes for breakfast.
I'm American and, while I get the connection, it sounds more strained than funny to me.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Not very good jokes, apparently.

@DragonFruit It is also used in the UK.
@DragonFruit I agree it's a horrible joke lol

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether "Hash it out" -- basically sit down face to face and work out the differences/problems between people.
