I spent a lot of my career in the Middle East and parts of North Africa. It began (my career, I mean) at a time when the locals lived up to the traditions of hospitality and generosity to strangers. It was a truly wonderful experience. Then the fundamentalists took hold. I suppose I don't need to elaborate🤷‍♂️
