NYC to Crack Down on Wood-Fired Pizza Joints to Reduce Carbon Emissions by Up to 75%

First gas stoves, now wood-fired ovens.

New York City will be cracking down on wood-fired pizza joints to reduce carbon emissions by up to 75%.

“All New Yorkers deserve to breathe healthy air and wood and coal-fired stoves are among the largest contributors of harmful pollutants in neighborhoods with poor air quality,” Department of Environmental Protection spokesman Ted Timbers said in a statement to the New York Post on Sunday. “This common-sense rule, developed with restaurant and environmental justice groups, requires a professional review of whether installing emission controls is feasible.”

According to the New York Post, some restaurateurs are currently negotiating with DEP officials.

Iconic pizzerias known for their wood-fired pizzas such as Grimaldis, Arturo’s, Lombardi’s, and others may be exempt from the mandate. Their wood must come from the wooden heads of democrats!

@soar2newhighs Imagine they are getting paid a chunk of money each time they pull some of this crap too.
@cherokeepatti In NYC, very likely…current administration in the city with as Curtis Sliwa of WABC Radio calls mayor Adams, “ The swagger man with no plan” you have to figure in “Quid pro quo”.
As someone espoused, climate change is more about making money than doing anyone any good.

@soar2newhighs Sacrifice on the altar of "climate change" is for the Little People (like us) , not for the privileged elite who feel entitled to live better than the serfs. (These critical "climate change summits" are usually held in some posh European city that can accommodate the slew of private jets for the attendees and have fancy restaurants and gatherings for the elite to hobnob. Everybody who's anybody will be there! Zoom conferencing? That's for the inconsequential folks)
