I Am a Meat Eater

I’m going to come straight out with it, I love the taste of it. That’s really the top and bottom of it. Now I have nothing against vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians or any other people who don’t eat meat, if you have the mental will power and the physical health to do that then I admire you for it and I respect your decision. I know there are different reasons people don’t eat meat, such as religion, being against animal slaughter, disliking the taste/texture etc...and I’ve always said that if I had a vegan or vegetarian friend that I won’t eat meat around them out of respect, but it still won’t stop me from having it when you aren’t around because I genuinely enjoy eating it.

The vegetarians/vegans I respect are the ones who eat what they eat and get on with their lives while letting me get on with mine. The vegans and vegetarians I don’t respect are the ones who are defined by their veganism/vegetarianism. The ones who have to make everyone else know their diet choice and who rebuke other people for their diet choices. Let’s face it kids, if the most interesting thing about you is your diet then you’re a pretty damn boring person. The ones who always preach about not eating meat get on my nerves, it’s like having jehovahs witnesses knocking at the door every weekend, it gets boring, you’re not really listening to them anyway, it’s like hearing cars in the background, it’s jusy noise.
I solemnly believe that each persons choices are their own and they should be respected. Don’t go around eating a steak in front of a vegetarian but don’t go around screaming murder if a meat eater decides to eat a bacon sandwich either. At the end of the day everyone has free choices just don’t rob anyone of that by insulting them for the choices they make
