Has anyone tried rice syrup before? Does it taste anything like maple syrup?

I want to try a Korean recipe and they use rice syrup in it, but I can't find it on amazon.. i wonder how different does it taste to maple syrup...

Rice syrup doesn't taste like much just sweet. Maple syrup tastes like uh, maple syrup. It's much richer and more intense.

@CountScrofula I love maple syrup 🥴 But I feel such responsibility to follow recipes religiously, as if, if I put maple syrup instead of rice syrup, it is all gonna explode or something lol

@BittersweetPotato Maple syrup adds maple syrup flavour. THe question is if you want that flavour in the recipe.

@CountScrofula I've never tried this recipe before so idk, but I say let's add maple syrup flavour, it must taste nice 🤤 plus it is the closest ingredient I could think of, because I really can't find rice syrup online 🤷‍♀️

@CountScrofula So my korean chili paste arrived yesterday, so I went and bought maple syrup to do the recipe soon.. Out of how much I was excited, I dreamt that the maple syrup I bought suddenly had no colour as I was pouring into the pan and did not taste good (did not taste like maple syrup) and I was telling you; this doesn't taste good, THIS DOESN'T TASTE GOOD 🤣🥔
