I've never had caramel popcorn on top of ice cream, but I think I'd really, really like caramel popcorn on top of ice cream

Great question LOL when we were kids My grandmother used to take us to a place called Sizzler and they had a soft serve ice cream machine with different toppings such as nuts sprinkles cookies and also the syrups. One of my favorite things to make is called a sweet and sour my own creation. I would make a layer of raw sunflower seeds and then pour butterscotch syrup over them so it would become a sticky sweet layer of sunflower seeds. At the Sizzler they only had the vanilla or chocolate ice cream so I would opt for the vanilla but when I tried it with my favorite ice cream which is mint chocolate chip it just was a complete opposite flavor combination that somehow worked and then I like to drop a few of the sunflower seeds on top with very very light and thin drizzle of the butterscotch. I'm not very into sweet stuff but this is just something from childhood I created and still love today

@LaLumieri I love butterscotch, but yeah it can be a bit too sweet. A light drizzle is perfect for ice cream.
And the sunflower seeds actually sound amazing. I know pistachios and ice cream work really well, but now that I think about it, a lot of different seeds might be worth trying. I'm actually thinking that I'd like to try out roasted pumpkin seeds or even poppy seeds with my ice cream.
There's definitely some options there that I wouldn't have considered. I'm glad you were an adventurous child, because it does legitimately sound like something worth trying

@lovelywarpedlemon Chocolate and chili are such an underrated combo. I know people put chili into their hot chocolates and it provides a little kick similar to cinnamon (wow, try saying that 5x fast). I've wanted to try that ever since seeing Chocolat
As long as it's not actual chocolate ice cream but chocolate IN the ice cream, I could get down with that. Normal chocolate ice cream just gives you the bitter taste of cocoa without the richness of the cocoa butter. I'm not a fan

@Casheyane That kinda sounds like a deconstructed Klondike Bar. I'd definitely be interested in trying that. And yeah, marshmallows make a lot of things better
