People are finally fed up enough with tipping culture that it's in the news.

Well I'll tell ya what, I've been fed up with it for years. Fight me!

I felt bad about not giving Starbucks people a tip after going there almost everyday. So I left a tip in the jar, not on the tip screen. The eggheads are going to count that towards their employees wages.
@lumberjackslam they need to unionize and forget about the tips.

@DarkHeaven true or advance in their career
@lumberjackslam and/or both. we can’t use the excuse that not everyone even wants to advance as a reason to exploit people. people that are comfortable where they are… are still people. exploiting is wrong. period.

@DarkHeaven well I feel I'm doing my part by not officially tipping on the screen

@lumberjackslam when I have a daily coffee shop I leave a tip probably half the time. Sometimes just throw change in the jar. I don't mind. I've been a barista and it's so nice to go home with tips, I get that. Don't go to Starbucks, go to a locally owned place 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Notsimilarreally Oh I just go there because its within walking distance. Otherwise I wouldn't. I used to go to an indie place when I lived in downtown.
@lumberjackslam you are, as much as you the consumer can. they have to fight for themselves. you can’t unionize them yourself. same as the Palestinians have to fight against Hamaz themselves. Israeli cannot free them of this burden. All Israelli can do is protect their own, like they are. The Palestinians have to want to be free. It seems there is a hunger for it now in Gaza. Maybe they can finally join the Israeli in throwing off the yoke off Hamaz exploitation of their own people. I pray that it has.

@DarkHeaven then they are paid what they deserve. Don’t want to improve then you stay the same. Pay as well.
@Like2play a non livable wage is not what anybody deserves. No one needs to have aspirations above their current job to be provided a livable wage that will not also require you to be on food stamps just to be able to live and eat.

@DarkHeaven so no starting jobs at all?
@Like2play You’d have to be much more specific about what jobs. We as a country have far too many “starting jobs” if that’s what you want to call them. It’s not sustainable and with the inflation we are seeing from Covid, the cracks are very much appearing.

@Like2play we are well above the national as well. I take no issue with states doing what they should. But shame on the twenty states that don’t,
@Like2play it shouldn’t be a national issue, on that we probably both agree.
