I have made them home made before, and they were actually pretty amazing. they ended up tasting just like my moms.
I peeled and boiled the potatoes, added milk, salt and butter, and whipped until they were the texture I wanted.
I happened to be making fried chicken as well and used the drippings to make an amazing gravy, that just so happened to also taste like my mother's.
